 Individual & Small Group Tutoring

1. Where and when does the tutoring take place?
    The tutoring typically takes place in a public place such as a local library or coffee shop.  Many tutors are willing to go to the student's home, provided an adult is present.  It is up to you and the tutor to decide where and when you will meet.

2. How qualified are the tutors?
   All of our tutors have gone through an extensive application process, an interview, reference checks and a background check. They offer a wide variety of backgrounds including certified teachers, graduate students, doctoral students, and pre-medical students.

3. How do I sign up for tutoring?
    Take a few minutes to peruse our tutors' profiles.  When you find one that meets your expectations, click on "fill out a contact form." You will be contacted by that tutor within 24 hours.  If you need some advice on which tutor to choose, give us a call at (518) 861-8740 or e-mail Nancie at

5. How do I pay for the tutoring?   
    You will pay the tutor directly. Most tutors accept payment by cash, personal check, and/or PayPal.  You can pay by credit card via PayPal.  Your tutor will communicate which types of payment they accept.

6. What is your cancellation policy for the tutoring?
   We encourage our tutors to maintain a 24 hour cancellation policy.  Please speak with your tutor about his or her cancellation policy.

7. What is your refund policy for the tutoring?
    Our tutors have their own refund policies.  Please inquire about this with your tutor.

SAT/ACT Preparation & Regents Review Classes

1. Where do the classes take place?
Our classes take place at the Center for Nursing in Guilderland.

2. What do students need to bring to class?
Students should bring something to write with, a calculator for math classes, and any questions that they might have to the review class. All other materials will be provided by the instructor. Students are not allowed to leave campus until the end of the class.

3. Should the students bring any food with them?
Students attending our weekday Regents Review Classes should bring one or two snacks.

4. How do I pay for a class?
If you register online, you will be required to pay through PayPal.  If you would rather pay by check, please register by phone at (518) 861-8740.  Checks can be mailed to D and T Tutoring Service, LLC, 124 Bozenkill Rd., Altamont, NY 12009.

5. What is your refund policy for the classes?
We compensate our teachers based on the number of students who sign up for the class. As a result, we do not issue refunds/credits for students who do not show up on the day of the class.

If a cancellation is made 48 hours (or more) BEFORE the scheduled class, the student may receive a 50% refund OR 100% D and T Tutoring Service, LLC credit.

If a cancellation is made LESS than 48 hours before the scheduled class (and NOT on the day of the class), the student may receive 100% D and T Tutoring Service, LLC credit.

6. Who teaches the classes?
All class instructors are certified teachers from local high schools who have previous experience teaching SAT/ACT Prep. and Regents Review Classes.

7. How do I get to The Center for Nursing?
From the West on NYS Thruway (I-90): Take Exit 24. After exiting the toll booth, bear right and follow signs to Western Ave. (Rte. 20). Turn right onto Western Ave. and proceed 2.3 miles to the intersection of Western Ave. and Rte. 155. Proceed through intersection on Western Ave (Rte 20) staying in the right lane for approximately 0.3 miles. The entrance to the Center for Nursing on right just before the next traffic light. The entrance is marked by Veronica M. Driscoll Center for Nursing sign.

From the East on NYS Thruway (I-90): Take the Western Ave. (Rte. 20) exit (just before the entrance to the toll booth for I-87 South and I-90 West.) Turn right onto Western Ave. and follow directions in 1 above.

From Adirondack Northway (I-87): Heading south on I-87, stay in the left two lanes as you approach the exit for I-90. DO NOT TAKE the I-90 or I-87 exit. Rather, continue towards Western Ave/Route 20 until the highway ends at Western Ave. Turn right on Western Ave. and follow directions in 1 above.

From the west from Duanesburg, Altamont on Rte 20: Proceed East on Western Ave. (Rte. 20). After passing the Town of Guilderland library, stay in left lane. Immediately beyond 20 Mall traffic light enter Center for Nursing drive on left, marked by Veronica M. Driscoll Center for Nursing sign.
